The school's atmosphere and learning environment are relaxed and homely. All the lessons are private with a maximum class size of five learners (per teacher/tutor) and each learner will receive more than adequate attention from an experienced and dedicated tutor who is a native Japanese speaker. If preferred (and if all the conditions fall into place), one-to-one individualised lessons are also available. Our school values quality of learning as the most important aspect of study and has adopted a balanced mix of a flexible, personalised approach and a well-tested conventional approach to maximize each learner's abilities. Each learner's pace of progress is carefully considered and respected. A variety of study sources are available at the school and a wide range of study material is also used throughout the lessons. Although some people may feel that learning the writing symbols (Hiragana & Katakana) is not important, we are serious about literacy because we believe this impacts significantly on how the language is spoken and also facilitates understanding of the basic grammatical rules and structures. That is why we introduce writing symbols from the beginning of the learning process. Copyright (C) 2012 Cape Town Nihongo Kai. All Rights Reserved.
